Here, you’ll find lil "fact files" on most of the characters – both Disney and original – who feature in the "Daughter of Demeter" and "Discord and Death" fanfics, and who shall all be making a comeback in "Till Death Us Do Part". If you haven’t read any of the fics and are meaning to, please be aware there are a few lil spoilers here.

Hades, Lord of the Underworld, has finally emerged from his notorious Well of Souls after his escapades involving Hercules and the Olympus takeover. Now severely despised by most of the Olympians, his life is turned around as soon as he lays his eyes upon Persephone, the young daughter of Demeter, at a Harvest Festival celebration. Realising his only option of ever having a chance to be with this ‘girl of his dreams’ is through abducting her down to his domain, he goes to kidnap the Goddess, and takes her back down to Tartarus. It’s then a case of him trying to get Persephone to love him in return before Zeus – or more importantly, Demeter – finds out where Persephone has gone.
But even if Persephone does come to love him, he still risks being banished from his post for eternity…
Loved dearly by her parents, but totally over-protected by her mother, Persephone has spent most of her life prancing about the plains of Sicily, and helping her mother with the Corn and the Harvests. But she tires of this life, and once accepted into the Pantheon of the gods, yearns for a purpose as a goddess. Generally looked down upon as a child by her colleagues, Persephone is relieved to find that at least one God isn’t so condescending toward her; but she didn’t bargain that that God would be Hades, infamous Lord of the Nether World. And she definitely didn’t think that one talk with him at the Harvest Festival party would lead to her being kidnapped by him!
Trapped in the Underworld, without anyone knowing of her whereabouts, Persephone faces a personal struggle between her own emotions as she battles between her want for freedom, and her increasing fondness for the Lord of the Dead…
Mother of Persephone, and Goddess of the Harvest, Corn and the Seasons, Demeter wants only the best in life for her daughter, Persephone, and hopes that, once she has been accepted into the team of Gods, that she will find a nice God to wed, and find a purpose in life. She never foresaw her precious child being stolen from her without a trace, however, from the placid plains of Sicily!
Her heart broken at the loss of her chid, Demeter wanders about the lands of the Earth, forever searching for her child, and refusing to allow the Earth to grow. As she suffers, so too does the human race, and she refuses to release the world until her daughter is found.
God of Wine and Parties, and father of Persephone, his heart is broken just as much as Demeter’s when he realises his daughter has gone missing. Left for the first time in his life as totally helpless, he prays that his daughter will be returned safely.
Pain and Panic are Hades’ two ne’er-do-well minions. They have the ability to shape shift, and tend to end up doing their boss’ dirty work. But they are invaluable, and in many ways, Hades could not do without them – running the Underworld is a hefty job, and he needs all the help he can get.
Both in support of Hades’ kidnapping of Persephone (like do they have a choice?), they’re both certain that Persephone will come to appreciate their boss in time. It’ll just mean another voice they’ll have to answer to…
King of the Gods, and lord of Thunder, Lightning and the heavens, Zeus is shocked by the sudden disappearance of Demeter’s daughter, especially so recently after her entry into the main Pantheon of Gods. He states that she must be found, and sends all the Gods out on a search for the young Goddess. But the Gods eventually have to call off their search, for they’re abandoning their duties as they look for Persephone – and they cannot allow the mortals to suffer needlessly. Only Demeter continues with the search, and prevents the Earth from growing in the process.
Zeus knows that Persephone must be found, or the Earth is doomed…
Goddess of Women and Childbirth, and loving wife of Zeus, Hera is equally distraught when she hears the news of Demeter’s loss. Recalling her feelings when her son Hercules was stolen from her, she joins the search for Demeter’s child, but her efforts prove as fruitless as the other gods. Always prepared to keep an open mind, she often keeps Zeus in check, and provides him with intellectual backup in many situations. And she feels that in this situation she may eventually need her legendary impartiality.
A Demigoddess, powerful witch and enemy of Hades, Hecate has forever had the desire to rule the Underworld. Aware of the search going on for Persephone, Demeter’s lost daughter, she stumbles upon the young Goddess by chance in the Underworld, and then orchestrates a diabolical plan that may, in turn, finally give her Underworld domination. But it all rests upon the shoulders of Persephone…
Wherever Hecate goes, her two faithful minions – a pair of toffee-nosed, flying wolves accompany her! Brutally over-protective of their mistress, they are blindly devoted to the Witch, and will do anything for her. They speak in supercilious, condescending tones of voice, and believe that Hecate should be the rightful ruler of the Underworld.
The Fates, Clotho, Atropos and Lachesis, spin the tapestry of the future, and know everything. They control the fate and destiny of all living entities, even the gods, and technically, should favour no one with their skills, although they can be displeased if they are openly offended by an individual. It is also well known that they are friendly with Hades, Lord of the Dead, and favour him with occasional glimpse at the future – but they are few and far between. They are often found hanging about the dark groves of Tartarus, though their main home is within a cave on a desolate mountain, far from civilisation, where they weave their fatal tapestry.
Once Hades and Persephone’s relationship stabilises, Persephone becomes pregnant and gives birth to twins. The first-born is Eris, future Goddess of Discord. She shows early signs of being the more dominant of the pair. Second born of Hades and Persephone’s twins is Thanatos, who will grow to become the grim God of Death. Quieter and seemingly more timid than his sister, Thanatos may mature into the less bold of the two, and the less dominant of the pair.
Ultor and Zagreus are Hades’ two black stallions, who pull his chariot, and provide him with an escort about the Netherworld, when necessary. Strong and fiery, they are loyal and sturdy beasts, and assist Hades with his abduction of Persephone. Persephone herself has a fear of equines, so is none too fond of the two horses upon first meeting, but Hades decides to do a rather charitable thing and teach her how to ride, provided she in turn helps him with a certain Fury problem. She eventually does learns how to ride at Hades' hands, and is a better person for it. Ultor means "the avenger" and was originally a surname of Zeus, whilst Zagreus means "the chthonic" (mysterious) and was a surname of Bacchus in a certain region.
